Alumni Citation & Alumni Award 2005

Wayne Anderson ’49 - posthumously
Peggy (Anderson) McAdoo ’70 attended the Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14th to accept the Sterling College Alumni Award in honor of her father Mr. Wayne Anderson ’49, posthumously. He went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2004. His wife, Helen (Huston) ’46 preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Anderson was the Director of Buildings & Grounds at SC for 21 years. Thousands of Sterling College Alumni remember Wayne in his role of caring for the facilities on campus. He truly loved the College because Sterling’s mission was for the Lord. Wayne visited the campus several times during the last two years to review the progress of the renovation of Cooper Hall, or “his baby”, as he affectionately called the building. He was in attendance for Homecoming in October of 2003 for the dedication ceremonies and walked through the “new Cooper” with such joy over seeing it come back to life. Wayne was a beloved and devoted alumnus and employee of SC. He is dearly missed.
