Herb Albertson
Herb Albertson joined Sterling College in February 2008 to revamp the Career Services Office. He came to us from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA where he served for 5 1/2 years as Bursar (helping students and families make sure their bills were paid to ENC.)
Herb and his family have worked with college students since he was a student himself at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK. Their interest in students and ministry in general, has led them to move 20 times, including 5 states and two foreign countries in 16 years.
Herb graduated from SNU with a BA in Business Administration and Speech Communication. He is finishing up his MA in Marriage and Family Therapy degree from ENC.
Herb brings innovative ideas for working with students as they pursue their goals. In addition to his work with students, he works alongside faculty for a more structured learning environment and can assist alumni with career needs.
Herb is here to help undecided freshmen and sophomores in declaring a major, using assessment tools to discover their career strengths. Students will be able to explore various careers in light of specific interests and talents. All students may receive help finding part-time jobs while attending SC, as well as internship opportunities to gain experience in a particular field. Juniors and seniors may receive assistance in graduate school preparation as well as preparing for full-time employment.
